Synthetic self-similar traffic generation

There exists extensive body of literature showing that most network traffic flows (i.e., those generated by http, ftp, variable-bit-rate (VBR) video applications, etc.) can be characterized by self-similarity and long-range dependence (LRD). A method to generate self-similar synthetic traffic was described by M. S. Taqqu, W. Willinger, and R. Sherman in "Proof of a fundamental result in self-similar traffic modeling" (ACM/SIGCOMM Computer Communication Review, vol. 27, pp. 5-23, 1997). Below are several versions of C++ implementation of this method.
